ABOUT The Bay
Brewery Bay opened their doors in 1993 with Steve Clarke at its helm. With an abundance of experience in the restaurant industry, Steve fashioned his perfect restaurant at 117 Mississaga St. E - a pub that welcomed families, sports fans, scotch drinkers, and everyone in between.
Brewery Bay Food Co. quickly established itself as a beloved staple in downtown Orillia - not only a great pub for food and drink, but as a home for everyone who crossed the threshold. With its community focus and dedication to excellence, Brewery Bay thrived for over three decades.
Steve raised a family in those walls - not only his own offspring, but a family of dedicated team members, many of whom have continued to work at the pub for over a decade!
The Big Move
In late 2024, Brewery Bay announced a merger with their Mississaga Street neighbour, award-winning craft brewery Couchiching Craft Brewing Co. in an exciting new chapter for both businesses. In a mere couple of months, Brewery Bay moved - a mercifully short distance of 100 meters downhill - into the craft brewery's taproom, bringing together both amazing teams and a selection of menu favourites from both restaurants.
The merger also served as an opportunity for Steve to retire, though it remains a family affair with his daughter Jenna French (also owner-operator of Rustica Pizza Vino) stepping in as managing partner of the newly merged company.
The new space has its own history reaching back over a century. Wood, brick, and even graffiti from the early 1900s have been preserved, whispering stories of days gone by, in celebration of the growth and perseverance of the building and its people before us.
